Hi
I hope whoever reads this is well.
I'm struggling to annotate my Romeo and Juliet booklet. its not the whole play but just the key scenes. My teacher did tell me to never use the website "Genius" as it doesn't give correct answers.
Its hard for me especially as my teacher left for maternity leave and we have had a supply teacher-I cant email him as he doesnt have an email address.
Could someone please help me as I don't want to fail my literature paper 1 section A?
I would have posted it on an english forum but i don't think there is one ?
Thanks in advance 🙂
Hi Jasmine ,
Thanks for replying.
I am supposed to annotate the Language structure and form of each extract. Points in the annotations can be linked to other areas of the text as that will help when I attempt the response. I am generally struggling with annotations as a whole as I don't know where to begin. I have checked the edexcel literature spec and website but I see nothing that could help :(
Hi, @EM ! I would be more than willing to help you with the Romeo and Juliet work! Do you just have to analyse the extract that you have attached in the comments, or do you also need to make reference to other areas of the text? Is there also a particular aspect of the annotation work that you are struggling with? Feel free to let me know, and we can try and work through some of the difficult areas together!
As for resources, I agree with Joel in that Sparknotes is very helpful! I also find that Shmoop and LitCharts are a great help as well! And I must admit that I have, from time to time, used Genius for a bit of extra help, however I always make sure to try and verify what people say about the text on there, and would recommend that you do the same if you do use Genius!
I wanted help on the annotations so that I could then answer the exam questions.
Hey @EM,
We don't have an English forum yet as we are rebranding the History forum into a Humanities forum, so I will move this post to their once we are done.
I personally didn't do Romeo and Juliet but I can ask my team members if any of them did.
For the time being, however, I would very much recommend having a look at SparkNotes as they provide a very good overview of the plays. I have included a link below:
Let me know if you have any more questions :).
