I'm stuck on my maths assignment, its due in 1 day! If you know the mean of week 1, week 2 and week 1, 2 and 3 together, how to do you find the mean for week 3 alone without the data set. heeeeelp. its on pg 529 question g
Hey! Thanks for the question, I’m going to be doing some stats revision today so this is a nice start for me lol.Mean = total/number of data pointsIn context: mean = number of cars/number of daysSo, we can say mean = (cars in week one + cars in week two + cars in week three) / days measured Substituting our values:920 = (815+804+765+839+912 + 805+781+1150+790+989 + x) / 15 where x is the mean number of cars in week three.Rearranging for x:13800 = 4135 + 4515 + xx = 5150 cars. Do the numbers for yourself as I’ve done this on my phone calculator and I don’t know if I typed it right. But I’m pretty sure the method is right.Hope we helped! Let us know if you have any more in the future!- Hassan
