Recurrence Relations

This is part of the A Level Further Maths course so I apologise if this is posted in the wrong place. But I’m struggling with getting to grips with forming and solving recurring relations. If anyone has any good links or sources that will help with the understanding of this chapter it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

While I didn't study this topic for my Further Maths A Level, I might be able to give you some resources I used to learn it. Could you let me know what exam board you are studying for so I can look at the specification and see exactly what is required?

For Decision Maths I would recommend looking at tutorials posted on YouTube. I've often found it much easier to watch and listen to someone working through an algorithm or method so I can understand how to interpret the mathematical theory.

There are a lot of great tutorials available, such as this short one from TLMaths, and this more comprehensive one I used to study Discrete Maths (it may be slightly outside the Edexcel specification).

If you prefer similar text based versions, I found this document on Google.

Hey @Leo Graham,

We studied A-Level Further Maths; however, unfortunately, we didn't do D2. We still studied recurring relations but I am not sure how different it is in Decision 2.

Any other help regarding Further Maths should be fine though. Hope we can help you in the future :)
